What your inputs actually change

November 3, 2026

Exact birth time, exact birthplace, name at birth, parents' birth years. What each one unlocks, and what happens to a reading when one is missing.

The most common question we get before purchase: I don't know my exact birth time, is it still worth it? The honest answer takes a few paragraphs, because different inputs unlock different parts of the reading, and you should know exactly what you're buying.

Your birth date is the foundation. Every reading is possible from it. But the lenses we can consult multiply with each added input. Exact birth time sharpens everything tied to timing: the chronological map, the forward windows, the finer structure of the period you're in now. Exact birthplace anchors the same work geographically, and the city on a document is sometimes not where a birth actually happened. The difference matters. Your name at birth, not the one you use now, feeds a separate layer of the reading's voice. And your parents' birth years allow lineage calibration: the difference between patterns that began in your own experience and ones that came through the family line. The two respond differently to attention.

Here's what most services won't say plainly. When an input is missing, we don't approximate it. An estimated birth time isn't treated as a real one. A current name is never substituted for a birth name. Invented inputs produce invented confidence, and the whole document rests on refusing that trade. Instead, the lenses that need the missing input sit out, and the conviction threshold governs what remains. The reading you receive is smaller but true, rather than full length and partly made up.

Some practical guidance. Birth certificates, hospital records, and baby books beat family memory, which drifts by hours more often than people expect. If a value is genuinely uncertain, tell us it's uncertain. The method holds uncertain inputs to a stricter standard instead of guessing. And if you find a corrected birth time after delivery, write to us. That's what the input record at the front of every reading is for.

FAQ

Common questions

What if I do not know my exact birth time?
The reading can still be made from your birth date. Exact birth time sharpens the chronological map, the forward windows, and the finer structure of the period you are in now. Without it, those lenses sit out rather than guessing a clock time.
Will a current name stand in for my name at birth?
No. A current name is never substituted for a birth name, and an estimated birth time is not treated as a real one. If a value is uncertain, say so. The method holds uncertain inputs to a stricter standard.
