How to test a reading against your own life
October 20, 2026
A reading you can't check is entertainment. A simple way to test Working Conviction reflections over two ordinary weeks.
A reading you can't check is entertainment. So every Meridian reading carries its own test, and it's worth spelling out here, because it applies to any claim about your patterns, ours or anyone else's.
Start with the Working Conviction reflections. These are the ones our lenses agreed on least strongly. Useful patterns under observation, labeled as exactly that. They're the easiest part of the document to prove wrong, which makes them the right place to begin. The instruction we ship with them is simple. Test it against your own week. If it fits twice, it fits. If it doesn't, set it down without ceremony.
Fits means something narrower than resonates. Resonance is cheap. A vague enough sentence resonates with everyone, which is the oldest trick in this category and the one Meridian was built to refuse. A fit is an event: a moment where you watched yourself do the thing the sentence described, in real time, when you could have done otherwise. Keep count honestly. Two events in two ordinary weeks is signal. Zero is also signal. Send it back to us. The feedback link at the end of every reading exists because a reflection that misses teaches us more than ten that land, and the reading gets sharper the more it's challenged.
Full Conviction reflections ask for a different kind of test. These carried near-total agreement across the lenses, and they tend to describe how you actually operate rather than how you'd like to. The test there isn't a two-week count. It's whether the people closest to you nod. That's a harder test, and it's why the reading includes sections written for them.
None of this makes any reflection fate. Patterns describe pressures and tendencies, and the choices remain yours. A default can be overridden by anyone who sees it coming. Testing the reading is how you start seeing it coming.
